Parker’s Social & Emotional Support group has reviewed the California Department of Education’s document, “Stronger Together: A Guidebook for the Safe Reopening of California’s Public Schools.” Using this information as a guide, we are developing a comprehensive response program to address the specific social and emotional needs of our Parker community, including the following:
Staff training regarding basic mental health and social and emotional learning.
Common classroom practices to promote community building and psychological safety, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Division specific social-emotional lessons and activities to build communication skills and peer support.
Community wellness practices to promote ongoing connection and monitor the needs of individuals in the Parker community, including faculty, students and families.
